Need help from your genius minds

Hi everyone, my 14 year old has been playing Minecraft for years on my Mac Air 13 (2103) as she has a Chromebook for her computer. I gave her an Acer Aspire5 A515-52G for her birthday last week so she could have her own computer to game with. I got a good Cyber Monday deal and the salesguy said she would be impressed. She isn't so crazy about it, and is having a hard time using it in Minecraft. She is hoping for me to return it and buy a used Mac Air 13 (2013-14). Is she just needing an adjustment period or am I better off exchanging? It seems to me a better deal to keep the Acer then to buy a 4 0r 5 year old Mac Air that costs more than what I paid for the Acer. It IS her present but I don't want to be a dope. Opinions?

What’s the specific issue? Is it slow? Is it hot?

I honestly think there is nothing wrong with the Acer at all. I think Minecraft operates differently on a Mac vs. a PC like the way you build.

Hello all,

My 14 year old has been using my Mac Air to game on (mostly Minecraft) for years as she has a Chromebook. For her birthday last week I gave her the Aspire 5 A515-52G. She is having a hard time playing Minecraft and is hoping to return it and buy a used MacAir 13.5 (2013-14) like mine. I got a good Cyber Monday deal on the Acer and spent about 500 dollars on it, the 2014 Mac Air 13 I am looking at is 1.4 Ghz, Core i5, 128 GB and would cost 550.00 It is HER present so I want her to be happy but is she crazy, I mean does she just need to get used to the Acer or is she better off with the Mac?
