I'm stuck between 2 laptops. I want a 14.0 inch and it has to be from newegg considering I have $1,200 newegg credit. I chose these 2 over the gigabytes cause of reviews and solid build quality, but..... I don't understand why the one is more expensive with the lower end graphics card. Also... will I see the same performace between the gtx 765 @ 1600x900 as the gtx 870 at 2k resolution? I must admit I like lower resolutions cause it's easier to see and read things. Does the Razor with the higher resolution scale down to lower resolutions without blur etc?

Thanks in advance.

hummm, that's rather weird innit. the one for 1999 has not only much better graphics but the screen too. I think you should go for the 870M version. The 3200x1800 resolution will not be a problem for you either, since you can just set the in-game resolution to 1600x900 and get a perfect 2x1 scaling. That's the one I'd be going for if I were you.

Regarding 870M versus 765M, just one simple fact - while sharing the same Kepler architecture, 870 got double the amount of shaders in the 765 and wipes the floor with it in the benchmarks.

oh, being from across the pond and thus having never dealt with Newegg I just didn't pay attention. The funny part is that this price is also after them offering a $400 discount, meaning they are clearing out the old stock, and they STILL can't match the price you get from Newegg.

Anyways, good luck with this lappy, it really does look like a sweet little powerhouse, so I'm sure you're going to have a lot of fun with it. I only have a mouse from Razer, and it's been a good companion of mine for the last... oh.. about 5 or even 6 years! Wow time flies
