Hi I recently purchased Epson 2040, which has a 3.5mm audio output connector. I want to connect my projector to Sony Home theatre system that has a toslink audio input, so that when I play videos from firetv stick attached to the projector, I want to send audio to the home theatre system. I tried using this cable byt it didn't work.

The problem is Projector is expecting a 3.5 mm connector, but something like this:

I really appreciate any help.

Solution
Option 1. If your HTS has HDMI inputs then plug the firetv and other sources into it and connect the HDMI output to the projector.
Option 2. Get an HDMI input selector with audio extraction to provide a digital audio output for the HTS.
Option 3. Connect the audio output of the projector to the HTS with a cable that has a 3.5mm stereo mini plug at the projector and the correct connector at the HTS (usually 2 RCA plugs) However the audio output of the projector may not work with a digital input. This is the worst sounding option.

Thank you for the suggestions. Option 1 and 3 are ruled out because my HTS doesn't have either RCA or HDMI inputs. I think option 2 is the only viable option. I am still surprised why don't they make a cable with 3.5mm to toslink to make it easy.
