Has anyone successfully been able to connect a laptop via blootooth or
infrared to their cell phone and access the Internet using Cingular
Connection Manager? I do not have their data services package, I only
have their Media Works package. I am not trying to use it to dial to
my ISP. I would like to use it to access the Internet via the Cingular
network. I believe this is possible but I'm not sure if I bought the
right package. The error I am receiving is "Error 734: The PPP link
control protocol was terminated." Nobody at Cingular knows anything
about this stuff. Everyone has a different answer.

Thanks!

I'm using the Nokia 6230b - not the one from Cingular. I bought this
online, unlocked.

Thanks,
Ahmet

Yes.

I don't just it because it isn't needed -- all that's needed is Windows DUN
(Dial-Up Networking). See my web pages below.

Likewise (currently).

It is possible and you do have the right package *if* your phone supports GPRS
and you're in a GPRS coverage area. MEdia packages don't include CSD, only
GPRS.

See my web pages below for GPRS settings.

Yes -- it works -- and the 734 means your phone is not setup for WIX
--- ask for "Media Works WIX" to be placed on your phone --

or it may be some other feature -- let us know what you find out

John
According to your website, in order to works, we must have ISP.Cingular
added in the account. The Media Works does not include ISP.Cingular , I
called many times, Cingular guys just could not find it in their computer
under the Media Work package.

You do not need ISP.CINGULAR with MEdia Works (not specifically covered on my
website), which uses the WAP settings.
