My LJR-I has a problem with the white highlights looking
"posterized" (quantitized), I'm guessing it's a simple
adjustment. Does anyone have a copy of the service manual?

I also have a question that could be answered from the
service manual. What does the output path look like for
the y/c and composite signals? Is the separation does early
and the y/c then recombined to create the composite signal? I'm
worried that it is, the manual mentions a "proprietary high
speed y/c summing circuit". Is this one of the few ld players
that you should use the s-video output from?

i have an ljr-II, and on the remote there is a posterization feature--- you
can select varying degrees of the effect. you may have turned it on by
mistake. check your ljr-I, and if you see this, cycle through the settings
and it may solve your problem. enjoy---:)
