Need help with choosing a laptop for my studies

Hi, I appreciate all the help i can get!
I have been looking for a laptop for personal use both on the go as well as at home.
Only Windows pc please.

My key points are:
Around 1300 Euro (1445 USD) or less.
Got an SSD.
Portable.

Can you tell me your opinion about 15.6" vs 13.3"? Which do you prefer on a laptop?

How careful are you with your stuff? What I mean by this is, do you want something that can take a lot of punishment and last you 3-4 years?

I only buy business class laptops from Dell and Lenovo because of the excellent build quality. Something like a Lenovo Thinkpad or Dell Latitude. I prefer 14" laptops to any other size. They provide the best balance between mobility and productivity. Gaming/working on a 13" laptop is not as comfortable as a 14" or 15" laptop, however, the larger they get the heavier and less sturdy they become.

I own both a E6440 (without the GPU) and a E6540 (with a Radeon HD 8790M) and they are amazing machines. If you want to do gaming you definitely need a dedicated GPU like the Radeon HD 8690M.

It is 14" and really easy to carry around in bag or backpack. It is a laptop so do not expect tablet sized mobility. However, it should be able to handle any of your study related tasks and do a little gaming on the side if that is what you want. If you will not be gaming at all you should not buy this as you can get something cheaper.

If high mobility is your priority then also do not purchase this.

The reason I always recommend Dell Latitude/Lenovo ThinkPads is because of the quality gap between these business laptops and normal everyday laptops that most people purchase. Obviously, there is a premium that one pays, but it is worth every penny in my opinion.

I will look at MSI GE for its great quality. Because of each panel or machine will be optimize in their own factories, MSI furnishes great performance and solid laptop.
