Need help with Element 46 inch TV code for cable

I am trying to set up my Element 46 inch TV with Xfinity cable top box for tv. My TV is new and can't get the code right a friend tried yesterday and he couldn't get the code they have if you don't have a code. So if you have Xfinity or Comast and know the code for my TV I would be so happy. Thank you Mary

Duplicate post. Same question though, code for what? You don't need a code to hook up a TV to a cable box, just hook up the cables to the TV.
