Need help with hdmi laptop not working

Hello,
ok here is the problem, i just bought a hdmi cable and everthing was working fine for like a week when i had it hooked up to my laptop and was watching dvds on my 22" vizio tv and then suddenly it stopped working and i cant seem to find a way to fix it. I tried rebooting my pc, uninstalling and then reinstalling the drivers and i even tried plugging the cable into my xbox and it worked fine.

Have you checked to make sure your external display is enabled (Display Properties/Settings)?
