Need some assistance with choosing a laptop.

Hello, I need a laptop for quick document keeping / writing and the occasional video / researching. No gaming or anything, found this laptop at my local bestbuy and wanted to make sure it would fit the bill.

This laptop is replacing a very old mac, so it will be a worlds difference either way. Thanks for your time.

That's good for word documents, everything within budget is, but that one in particular is good because it had adequate RAM and a decent multi core CPU for multitasking (EG Internet while typing as a video loads in the back round)

All around good computer for your task. If you could spent more money you could get a little nicer laptop, but thats true for most things.
But @ 400 it adequately suits your needs just fine
