need to clone my old laptop drive to a new drive, is there a cord for that

Have a Toshiba satellite laptop and keep getting a message that have no disc space even though removed many files and photos to an external hard drive. Think I need to replace the drive with a Seagate solid state drive and would need to clone programs, data, operating system to the new drive. Is there a cord I can use to connect the new drive to the old drive to copy everything

Is the SSD going to be larger than the planned SSD ?

I'd suggest on of these .... no worry about 'filling" up the SSD
