NetBook Not Charging Properly

Recently I noticed my netbook wasn't charging properly. it used only charge when the charger was in a certain position. But about a week ago it just wouldn't charge. Then after a day it started to charge again, however a couple of days ago it would only 'run on AC power' and cut out as soon as the charger moved. I bought a new charger, the only thing it's changed is that it doesn't depend on the positioning of the charger, it still only runs on AC power. Any suggestion as to why this might be?

Battery might be bad, charging port broken. The way its acting, its more likely the latter.
