There are no controls attached to it, it needs a PC to broadcast to it.

Its essentially an ethernet to HDMI converter.

WiDi is restricted to Intel video and lags a bit. Not usable for gaming. WHDI while not perfect is the best wireless solution avaiable.

The WiDi feature adds this but is not the only way to use this device. They have a model without WiDi too.

Bought it and will be returning it... Device is useless. You find the same mainstream content on your xbox or ps3 which works better. (Youtube, huluplus, etc). Is compatible with ANYnet+ if you have a samsung tv. This lets you use your tv's remote control the neotv. Button mapping is bad. You get locked into the apps, and have to hit tools--> anynet device ---> device info... Upscales everything to 1080p. 1080p palatable but for videophiles and video gamers you will notice it and IT IS ANNOYING with its chop. Menu's are slow and wear your thumb out. Dont waste your money. If you bought it for the wireless display like i did, save your money and run a 30 ft hdmi cable near your wall's baseboard, under your couch and tap into your laptop sitting on your coffee table. Cables of that length are less then 10 bucks on amazon. Tested from vaio vpceg27fm/w i5 2430m sandy bridge 8 GB ram intel ssd.
