New Acer Aspire F5: video freezing

Hello, I bought a new Acer Aspire F5 with Windows 10 two months ago. I use it only for web browsing and watching videos (with mplayer). After a week while watching a movie the mplayer froze out of the blue and there was a loud sound coming from the laptop. After a month the same problem happened with mplayer and also while watching an online video only without the sound. Every time I have to shut down the laptop with the power off button to be able to restart it and start working again. Is it a software problem or should I return the laptop to the retailer?
