Hello all,

I'm in need of a new cellphone. I currently have a galaxy ace and a nokia x7-00, but I'm selling those two to buy a new one. I live in Belgium, so prices are quite high here.
Budget: +-500 euro maximum
Needs:
- Good and really big screen (because the ace's screen sucks), doesn't have to be amoled
- Good performance (not like the slow ace)
- Good camera! (I like to take pictures)
- Being able to play gba and nds games (emulators!)

My initial thoughts are: Nexus 5 (€399), LG G2 (€550), Galaxy S3 (€299), Galaxy S4 LTE (€530).
I like the:
Nexus 5: It's a bargain (specs wise) + It receives updates quickly.
LG G2: the big screen is a really good thing, I like the looks
Galaxy S3: I like it because of it's price, and it's still a good phone in 2014, no?
Galaxy S4: the screen is wonderful, and it's a fluent phone (I've played with it already)

What do you guys think? Are there better devices out there?
A little help would be great!

Much appreciated!

Greg

Another option to consider is the LG G Pro
But the OS updates are slow for this model and it is stuck at 4.1.2
But hardware wise, IMO it is one of the better ones
1080p screen
13MP
2GB RAM
16/32 Inbuilt and is expandable
Big 3140mAH battery

I'm a big fan of the Galaxy S3 as well, but it's over a year old now. I'm kinda worried that it won't get updated after android 4.4 anymore. How doesn't the S3 tick al my boxes?
PS: I'm not a fan of iPhones (I had one before, I sold it)

The LG G Pro is not being sold in Belgium. Kinda sucks, as I've seen the phone as well.

you asked for a big screen, while the S3 screen is a medium size. it is not that big, it ticks the box on performance. i ran test between the S3 and the iphone 4s and the S3 won. the camera is around the same quality or a bit more than my iphone 4.

Thank you for your input, I think the S3 is still a bargain. I guess everything bigger than 4inch is big for me, as that's the biggest screen I've ever had on a phone.
But isn't the Nexus 5 worth the €100 over the Galaxy S3?

Nexus 5 is well worth it if you wont be storing a lot of stuff in your phone. Also if getting the 16Gb version, it might get filled up pretty quick if you install lot of apps and store lot of videos and photos in the phone.
But performance wise, it is among the best. Also the 8MP OIS camera on the N5 is pretty decent.

Well, the only thing I store on my phone are photos and music. I have an 8GB sd card in my Galaxy Ace, and I still have 3GB left.

Ok so I'm currently stuck between the S3 and the N5
Reasons to go with the S3:
- Price: €100 cheaper
- Screen: I like the punchy colors of the amoled, the N5 screen has washed out colours when held at an angle
- Expendable memory: you never know lol
- Battery life

Reasons to go with the N5:
- Far superior hardware
- bigger, sharper screen (but washed out colours at an angle)
- ois camera

Or should I wait for the Galaxy S5 to come out, and then buy the S4?
