That could be a very good idea! If an effect loop could be avalaible to OS as a ASIO device, with VST or anything like Guitar Rig 3 which could allow you to use crazy effets, with guitar pro installed and a USB switch pedal, all in one amp it would be awesome

It's an amplified speaker, not a sub-woofer. It won't be bouncing across the floor. If people can run pc's in their cars, I'm sure it'll work just fine here too.

[citation][nom]asdf634[/nom]Wonder what would happen when you turn that thing up to 11... and they should really use SSD for this.[/citation]
LOL-OUCH that hurt my side

[citation][nom]xbeater[/nom]not so sure it is good for the hardware to be sitting right underneath a powerful speaker though... magnetic stuff can do serious damage...that's a personal experience.. killed an old pentium 2 by placing it right next to an 800 watt speaker.[/citation]Must have been a coincidence. Why would a company develop this if it could harm them computer. That huge magnet might hurt a credit card but surely not a hard drive or components.

it seems more to me like it is a pc with an integrated amplifier opposed to vice versa, as on the website there aren't any specs of the actual amplifier itself

I would really like to know exactly what kind of audio chipset this thing is packing. From the look of it, it would seem to be motherboard-integrated, which doesn't bode well for the recording/effects part. I've not really had good luck getting high-fidelity input from an instrument with on-board codecs.

Step 1: get a low end PC and guitar amp
Step 2: build a box around both of them
Step 3: charge a price so high that it will put Steve Jobs to shame for not being able to think of such a high number.
Step 4: ?????
Step 5: Profit

It will be OK till the first time it falls out of the back of the car or gets thrown into the van carrying the equipment. Don't see how it can be road worthy. Plus it's an orange...Never really cared for their amps.

LOL... novel! Rather than call it a PC with integrated speakers, I think it's more appropriate to call it an Amp with integrated PC. I can imagine how useful it'll be to musicians if they manage to iron out the concerns voiced here.
