I'm a SHU alum. This isn't new for SHU. They were one of the first with providing laptops for every student. But let's get one thing straight:
The phone ain't free.
SHU charged me $2k, MANDATORY, per semester (so $4k) for a crappy* laptop. And that's each year. So for $16k I coulda gotten one hell of a laptop. Instead, each year it was shit, and you only got 1 refresh. It you chose a second refresh, you didn't get to keep it (yea $8k and it was taken away from you) and had to return it. So I was left with a $8k laptop, that again, was shitty.
Nevermind the fact that SHU is absolutely notorious for nickel and diming you. $250 per semester for parking--nevermind that they never had enough spaces. So that $250 25% of the time got you parking in the ghetto where annual 4 students are robbed at gunpoint. And then they give you bullshit $50 tickets left and right.
Kids, anyone who is reading this, stay very far away from SHU. A Lumia 900 isn't worth it. Go to rutgers where the tuition is cheap, the parties are plenty (SHU had NOTHING), and the girl are easy. ;-)
* At the time, my crappy laptop had a bootleg celeron IIRC, with only 1 GB RAM and Win ME, when the typical mid-level laptop had WinXP, 2GB RAM. Granted they were ThinkPads, but still.
