I just bought an Onkyo TX-NR555 receiver and I'm having a bizarre issue. I can't get the Onkyo menu to appear on the LG 50UH5530 TV consistently. Both TV and receiver are hooked up to the ARC HDMI port. When I choose the input on my TV for the receiver, the TV simply says "No Input." I can push all the "settings" and "information" buttons on the receiver remote to no avail, it still says "No Input" on the TV...with a couple weird exceptions. If I hit the "Net" button on the receiver remote, which is for stuff like Pandora or Spotify, all of a sudden it will correctly bring up the Receiver menu on the TV for those these apps. Once that's pulled up I can then hit the "settings" button on the receiver remote, and have it correctly display the settings menu on the TV. Weird... it's almost like I have to trick the TV into recognizing the signal, or the receiver into showing a picture. So, I thought I must have screwed up something on the "Initial Setup." I used my workaround and hit the "Net" button, browsed to "Initial Setup" again and ran it. One step of which is to connect to the TV to make sure the video displays correctly. I hit "ok" to run that, and instantly my TV lost signal from the receiver. Now the receiver says "see TV"...but nothing is displaying on the TV and I can't progress any further in the initial setup... I don't know what I did wrong and I can't figure out what to do next. Can anyone help?
