Good day,

Could some one please advise on the following:

I have an old Home theater system Pioneer XV-DVD515, and i'm planing to exchange the starting 60w speakers with new 90w - do you think the system will be able to handle it?

Solution
The old speakers are 6 ohms so your new ones should be 6-8 ohms to be safe. There should not be any problem using better speakers. The fact that they will handle more power will not be an issue. You don't want to play them louder than the Pioneer can. If you try there will be distortion that can damage the tweeters in your new speakers. Better speakers will hopefully give you clearer sound that will make using the system at lower volumes more enjoyable.
