If Nintendo made a 1080p firmware update or something that you added on, they would get a huge boost in sales and games developed for the console which again lead to a boost in sales for both consoles and games

Same deal as with Mario Galaxy, or many other games on Dolphin. Even if you have the hardware to get smooth framerates, the games still run slow, as this video shows. It' feels like he's on the moon or under water.

Weird - why would you need GeForce GTX 260 for a 2D game? An ancient GeForce 4400 should suffice (certainly nothing more than a GeForce FX 5500, possibly even the 2MB pre-3DFx 2D-only cards)...

I think Nintendo should drop the whole console gig and just make games. Let's face it. Is the wii console REALLY required to play the games they make.... No. The wii is not a console, it's a method of playing games. If you took the accessories (wand, nun-chuck, etc), and accessories only, from the wii and had an exact equivalent on either the PS3 or 360, nobody would pay for the wii. People aren't paying for an underpowered previous generation console that has no HD and only comes in shiny white. They are paying for the experience. An experience that currently is not available on the PS3 or 360. HOWEVER, once either or both of those consoles provide the same experience, Nintendo's sales of the console will plummet. That's my prediction, and I think it's only a matter of time before something like that happens to a degree.

Pretty sure that's because the game is 3D but is played on a 2D plane. Also, consider that emulating consoles requires a lot of processing power.

Even a E6550 at stock clocks paired with a 4870 will lag at certain points with PS2 games.

No matter how high the resolution of the screen, the wii will always have ugly textures

Ran at constant 60FPS with perfect audio too with no graphical errors. Due to recording with Fraps it recorded at 30FPS and caused audio problems which do not happen otherwise.

@ Shrex

That is kinda what I figured.

I would be curious to see what something like the Metroid Prime series looks like on 1080p :D

After watching the video, I think I'd still enjoy super mario world on the snes more than this. I grew up on that game and still have fun to this day playing it.
