Having virtually no recording experience, but wanting to get into tinkering
with guitar and vocals to create music (or something like it! ), I'm
interested in getting a recording setup via my PC. It seems to me a good way
to go would be firewire, since I could also use that with a laptop if I ever
got one. I've been looking at the M-Audio Firewire 410. I'm running XP. I'm
curious about people's experiences with this. I'm also looking for
recommendations on software for someone that primarily intends to do vocals
and acoustic guitar through a microphone, electric through the preamp on the
410, and at some point keyboard through the midi. I also would like to have
drums/bass/etc. through the software. What software would you recommend that
both fills these needs and is good for a complete beginnner? Also, any
microphone recommendations in the $200 area. I'm considering an Audio
Technica, forget the model, though.
Thanks!
