I was wondering where I could buy Direct TV the cheapest? I live in Illinois
and I only need Satellite in 1 room. I want TIVO.

So far, I have found one place offering the system with installation for
$40.00 with a $50 rebate for the TIVO. In this case, I would actually make
$10.00 on the deal.

Now, my only concern is that if I don't have a good view of the southern
sky, they will charge me $50.00 for the ride out to my house, pluse the $40
bucks to ship the unit. That's a lot of cash just to see if this unit will
work.

Now, I live in a ranch style home but there are a lot of trees around. If
I'm on my room, how much of the sky do I need to see? Angle? If it's pointed
like 45 degrees from my rooftop, I should be fine. Otherwise, I'm not sure
if the sky will be unobstructed since the house across the street has a
large pine and is two stories.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks for all your help.

You're asking in the wrong newsgroup!

4DTV does not stand for "4 Direct TV," it refers to the Motorola DSR series
of 4dtv receivers( www.4dtv.com ) which are used for C\KU band,the big
dishes. They are called that because they receive 4 kinds of satellite
signals.

Your question would be best asked and answered in one of the DBS newsgroups.

T7 is fine here.

The person who wrote the direct tv info request needs to go ask that
question in one of the dbs forums!

"4dtv" does NOT stand for direct TV!
http://www.4dtv.com provides the answer!
