Hello I am a complete newbie to digital cameras and I have no passion for photography. I am looking for a digital camera because I want to take better pictures for my products than that of the camera on the smartphone. As a result, I will mostly only take pictures for static objects indoor.

I have limited budget and almost zero knowledge for choosing a digital camera. I'd like to know what specification do I have to pay special attention to when it comes to choosing a camera to buy in the market? I don't want to get scammed. Thank you very much

Solution

1. Determine budget. $100, $500, $2,000?
2. Camera feature search: https://www.dpreview.com/products/search/cameras#!
3. Camera comparisons...

Generally, within a certain price range...they will be very similar.
For instance, Camera A may do slightly better video, Camera B may do slightly better low light images.

Solution
also look at things like fixed lens vs lens system. also with some cam like sony check that they dont use there own sticks/format for the photos. (if the cam gets broken you want to be able to recover the photos.
see also if there a local photo club that can help. also if you can wait a bit there going to be a lot of good black friday sales in a few weeks.

before paying for the camera, what kind of things I should check carefully in order not to get something used or even hardware get broken? or the only way to make sure that is to go to a reputed shop?
