No bootable device please restart system

Hi there, I have a toshiba satellite
c855-29m laptop. When I switched it on today, an error message came up with a sad face. Followed by checking media 'fail' then no bootable device--please restart system.

Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks

it appears your hard drive has crapped out. check in the bios to see if the hard drive is seen & identified.
