No optical port

Help required. No optical port on TV. Bought a sound bar with optical port connection. Assumed Tv had optical port as fairly new and decent tv. But alas no. What do I need to do to connect the two? Can’t take soundbar back as packaging open.

Unfortunate. What devices are you trying to get sound from (cable box, game console, roku)?

Might be able to run audio out from them into a switch then to the soundbar.

Just tv to sound bar. Then Bluetooth the stereo to sound bar.

Just don’t no which optical converter I need.

If the TV has no output (and the specs read like it doesn’t) you can’t. But how does the tv get the signal? No cable or satellite box?

yep we have aerial from tv. Plus bt tv box. Only port missing is the optical port. Have the rest, scart, red/white/yellow, hdmi, LAN.

Only sound output this TV has is 3.5mm headphone jack.
Soundbar has 3.5mm input. So you can use that.

Wrong direction of conversion.
If you want to use digital input on soundbar, you'd need converter from 3.5mm analog to optical.

Wrong way around. That's optical to anolog.

Nope. Neither tv nor soundbar have that port either. Embarrassingly my 8yr olds tv has a optical port. So annoyed. No she ain’t having it.

When you say stereo do you mean a audio/video receiver? If so you could go box to avr to tv and soundbar.
