Hey, I have a Toshiba Satellite C655-S5048, running Windows 7 Home Premium. I wanted to create a hotspot so I could access the internet via my Android. But, this is the second time this is happening. I use Virtual Router Plus for making the Hotspot and now there is no sign of the Wi-Fi nor the Wi-Fi Drivers. The Wi-Fi adapter isn't even shown in the adapter settings. The first time, I downloaded and installed the Realtek drivers given by Toshiba for my Laptop. After installing, it started working but later, I find out I have an Atheros WLAN adapter. Only the LAN works now.

Go back to the download page on Toshiba's website and make sure you select the appropriate country.
Bring up the drivers for your laptop model and download the Atheros WLAN driver. Then install it.

Well, apparently my granddad bought the Laptop from the US while I stay in India. I tried browsing through the Support page of Toshiba for India and couldn't find my Model Number.
