Hi All,

So I've got my tv and my home theatre (just a basic dvd HT unit).

Anyways, I've plugged my tv to the ht using a HDMI cable however when i turn the ht on, sound from the tv turns off and nothing comes out of the ht.

The tv is a sumsung PS50C550 and the ht is a panasonic SC-PT480.

I can't for the life of me see that anything is wrong or plugged in incorrectly.

Hopefully someone can help, if there's any additional information I will do my best to supply.

Cheers

The single HDMI cable you plugged in gets the picture from the DVD into the TV so you should get sound from the DVD/HT and picture on the TV when you play a DVD. If you want sound from the TV tuner to come through the DVD/HT you will need to connect an audio cable from the TV to it. What kind of cable depends on the TV audio outs and the DVD/HT audio ins.

Ok, so I've got the optical cable connected between the tv and the dvd player, but still no sound.

I can't for the life of me figure out why it isn't working. I've set the dvd player to digital in and nothing.

Also, the plugs don't really seem to be that secure, how secure are they supposed to be normally?
