No sound through headphones in Windows 8 comes through speaker only

Yesterday I was using Windows 7 and my headphones worked perfectly, sound and talking. Today after Windows 8 was installed I can only get sound through the laptop speakers. I have put the jacks in both ways just in case I did it wrong and then I also tried an ordinary headset that I also know works and the same thing nothing.

You NEED to reinstall the sound drivers for 8....
