No Sound

Starting about noon today, any shows that record on my unmodified 5040
do not have any sound. I tried disconnecting the power, but it did not
help. Any already recorded shows play just fine with sound. If I monitor
live TV through the 5040, there is not sound. Has anyone experienced
this problem before? Assuming the unit has to be repaired, is the
company still fixing 5040's? First the Ethernet port, now the sound. I
don't think these units are very high quality. Otherwise, it's a good thing.

You're not using the RF output of a cable box into the Replay tuner are you?

DNNA swaps it with a refurb, but since 50XX are in huge demand, they
probably don't have any.

FYI Unless hit by lightning, the ethernet port is almost never a
problem. Network configuration errors are almost always the issue. The
only common failure item is the HD, which is easily upgraded.

F59 using its own tuner. I'll try it, but I will have to do so tomorrow.

I believe they will fix it, and I'd for sure want it fixed, not
replaced, though you might wish to pick up a 55xx as a "Spare" while
it's in the shop.

I have a 55xx myself (they do not do IVS) and the only time I've lost
sound I had a weak signal situtation and lost the audio carrier.

This had nothing to do with the replay, Just the antenna position and
the weather, I have not made any further adjustments to the antenna
(though a strong wind may have "adjusted" it a bit and the last 3 shows
I recorded off the station that gave the problem were excelent, One
worthy of DVD burning

By the way.. If anyone missed last Wed's West Wing (My wife missed it,
My replay did not) I burned it to DVD and she's done watching (So am I)
so it's up for grabs

It's connected to cable. The signal is fine. It is not connected to any
external tuners or devices.

The Ethernet port is definitely bad.
