Not that I generally trust IHS's numbers, but it just goes to show that technology does not have to be expensive to have a fully featured product. This price obviously does not include the costs of design, advertising, and research.

I liked the Windows Phone interface. I am not the type to upgrade my phone once or twice a year, so I try to buy a phone which will last.

I seem to have remembered seeing similar costs of a past iPhone, but I don't remember for sure. It may be normal, which is why it would have been nice to see some comparisons.

[citation][nom]Jarmo[/nom]According to isuppli, iphone 4S parts are $188 (as of late last year). Not a big deal either way but seems Lumia 900 is a bit more expensive to build.http://www.isuppli.com/Teardowns/N [...] veals.aspx[/citation]

I find it interesting that their base model doesn't have much profit in it, but adding 16gb of storage cost an extra $100, but cost them $19, and adding 48GB cost the customer an extra $200, but cost them $48.

The definitely get you with the extras.

The base models unsubsided price is around 650$ IIRC, I'd say that's enough profit.
