Jayson Gordo :
hello is there a non DOS-based, WINDOWS-based, LINUX-based, or UNIX-based operating
system? and can you please give me some ? i realllly really need it
There are plenty out there, but most of the are very application specific.
VXWorks is a highly reliable RTOS used by many military and industrial systems (the Mars rovers all use this).
IBM has several operating systems for their mainframes including zOS (Although I don't think it's genetically Unix, it is Unix compliant), VSE (an operating system with a 50 year history), and z/VM (a hypervisor)
ReactOS is to Windows NT as the GNU Project is to Unix.
BeOS is an old IBM PC operating system similar to Windows and Mac OS (not OSX).
Haiku is to BeOS as ReactOS is to Windows NT.
QNX is a non-genetic Unix compliant RTOS used in embedded systems. It's similar to VXWorks in many ways.
