They probably built a $3,000 fusor in their labs and released this. It's entirely feasible, high school students have done the same thing.

Is it technically nuclear fusion? Yes. Does it produce more energy than it consumes? No. Look up the Farnsworth reactor.

haha complete bull. They can't even get a missile to fly far enough to be any major threat and thats been their clear goal for years. The country is still in darkness at night other wise it would be pretty obvious they had achieved this. Surely fission t5hats controlled needs to be achieved before this too

I think we have this all wrong. Kim Jong Il isn't interested in provided power to relieve the burdens of his people. Now, he is interested in his favorite T.V. show "Lost" and S. Korea. So when they say they have created an "Artificial Sun" it is a Kwon reactor. And it has been shown to generate quite a reaction from Kim Jong. Well as much as can be expected from a dictator of his age after a stroke. It has yet to be seen if it will generate enough heat to create power. Next week, North Korea shares the secret to a stained reaction with the "Articial Sun". And in other news N.Korea re-invents Viagra. Well you can see were this is going.

Love how the media hate instantly bash N Korea. I dont support anything but my own two leggs, I simply keep an open mind at all times, and in this case would all the media and every other critic to be proven wrong. Esp the "we rule all" american way of living.

Surround an atomic bomb with paraffin, and you have nuclear fusion.

What we need is self sustained nuclear fusion. That is the hard issue.
