Not a Win 32 application.

I backup up my outlook express email messages on an external hard drive and they file there as filename.dbx. When later I try to open those emails to read or use, I get the following error message:
filename.dbx is not a valid Win32 application.
I hope you can help me in resolving this problem. If I've saved the emails, I should be able to then convert them back ro readable emails (perhaps *.eml). Thank you in advance and take good care.

If you used a backup/export/archive function, your mail program should have option to restore/import that data. You can't just double click the dbx file and magically make it work.
