Notebook not running off good battery

Quite suddenly my Samsung NP350V5C stopped working unless on AC power. The battery was at 91%. I removed battery, removed battery controller in devices and cold booted after pressing the on button (1min) while off power with no battery. Fitted battery, same problem.

New battery 65% reported (and from battery self report). Says 'charging' but still the computer stops if the AC is disconnected. Contacts cleaned etc. No better. ? Mother / daughterboard issue? Any suggestions what to try?

I have a similar problem with my asus but in mine windows seem to detect the battery level too late and causes it to switch off. This can happen even when I am doing something as simple as surfing the web.
