NVIDIA Geforce GTX860M or GTX950M

Hi Guys!

Currently having a dilemma on which laptop to buy, both have the same specifications but they differ in their GPUs.

The MSI Laptop sports a GTX860M with 2GB GDDR5 vRAM while the Asus ROG Laptop has a GTX950M 4GB DDR3 vRAM.

According to notebookcheck.net the GTX 860m performs better in than the GTX 950m but they were tested with the both of them having the same amount of memory ( 2GB )

I was just wondering which GPU would be better given the GTX860 has 2GB GDRR5 vRAM while the GTX950M has DDR3 vRAM but has 4GB instead of 2
( reference games: Skyrim, fallout , gta 4-5 )

Those cards are pretty on pair on the field of performance with small 860 lead. On the other side 950 is newer generation with more ram. But with gddr5 860 is better for gaming. So if you intend to game go with 860.

Thanks for answering! I have one question though, can the GTX950M ( 4GB GDDR3 vRAM ) outscale the GTX770M ( 3GB GDDR5 vRAM ) in performance?

Zero I edited post didn't saw first time 950 is with ddr3 memory. For gaming better to go with 860. For other purposes main factor is price. About your second question 770 is judging by benchmarks better card.
