nVidia ShadowPlay not working, red slash through icon.

**I am using the ShadowPlay "cheat" (-shadowplay)**

First off: When I open shadow play, on the top it always says "recording x resolution, x FPS, x Mbps, using H.264" This never goes away even when I toggle recording.

Second: In-Game (Planetside 2), the shadow play symbol has a red slash through it. When I toggle recording, it lights up green, but still has a slash through it. And when I turn it off, nothing saves at all.

Help? Is it because I am cheating?

What is the purpose of the ShadowPlay "cheat"? What graphics card are you using?

Edit: Nm, looked up the cheat. But please answer the above question as that will help.

A nVidia GeForce GT540M On my laptop. That is why I need the cheat. It used to work a while ago on the same laptop, but since then I have reinstalled Windows.

Technically the 540M lacks the necessary hardware chip for Shadowplay to work properly. It's possible that Nvidia patched out older video cards to prevent the "cheat" from being effective since then.
