Greetings, recently i got a Samsung smart TV (49MU6202) and i want to use my older 5.1 which is working fine with it, but i noticed it has only optical audio output, and two jacks one yellow and the other one blue.

Thing is it came with an adapter (see photos) converting rca to that yellow jack. So i plug the rca by color (red and white) put it into the yellow jack from the TV, go to settings and select external audio output, the sound from the TV's speakers is cut, but the sound doesn't play in the 5.1.

Oh yeah and it came with an blue adaptor too, but i doubt that will work (tried anyway) still nothing.

Solution
Check the TV manual to be sure but I think all of those adapters are to give you composite or component audio video inputs when plugged into those jacks on the TV.
You can't use them to get audio into your HTS since they are inputs.
You only option is to use the optical audio output. If the HTS has an optical input then use it. If it has a coax digital input you need an optical to coax digital converter. If it only has analog audio inputs you need an optical to analog converter. Check the TV manual on how to turn on and configure the digital audio output. Many DACs only accept 2 channel PCM so make sure that your TV can be set to output that. If it can't get a DAC that can accept 5.1.
