On my acre aspire laptop it won't charge and on the screen it displays critical low battery

It won't charge and it will go on for 10 seconds and displaying " critical battery. and then shutting down . The laptop is less than a year old. It was only used once or twice.

There is a possibility that the battery cells have gone down and not allowing charge. If it has only been used once or twice, (being either stored with, or without a charge) the likely hood of the battery being at fault is quite realistic. Also, its worth getting the charger checked for correct output.
