One Million Years B.C. WS LD

Hello NG,

I received the LD stated in the subject header (Raquel Welch is a
guilty pleasure of mine -- I admit it!). About 30 minutes into Side
1, a crosstalk/herringbone pattern starts to develop and gets
progressively worse as the side finishes. The beginning of Side 1 and
the entire Side 2 is fine. I tried this LD on TWO separate players,
and the phenomenon is the same for both, so I don't think that my
laser is out of alignment.

My question is this: Is there a history of this title having this
problem?

TIA.

Test the disc for warpage. Place it on a flat table and see if you can
slide a nickel under the inner label area. Turn the disc over and try
again.
If the disc is warped you can flatten it out by placing it between two
planes of glass and leaving at least 10 pounds of equally distributed
weight on top for about a week.
Another method it to place it in with your other discs and make sure
there's some good side pressure. This method takes longer but I've found
that it works fine for slight warps.
Kevin.

I did this test, and the disc is not warped. <sigh>

I've looked carefully at the disc itself, and I cannot find any
problems with it other than one teeny tiny black spot that doesn't
come off with my thumbnail. Would a rotted disc show a
crosstalk/herringbone pattern when played?
