Operating system not found

Hi, I own an acer aspire v5 & my laptop is constantly showing "operating system not found" on the top left hand corner of the screen. I did numerous attempts of restarting the laptop over and over again but it will always come back to this page. I've tried doing the ctrl+alt+del as well as pressing F2(+Fn) often but to no avail. I've stored many important documents & most of the documents I've to submit for my college entrance!! So please help a poor soul & tell her what should she do!! Thank you!!

I think your HDD has died. Take the lappy to a reputable service place and they might be able to get some of your files off it ... if the drive is not completely dead.
