Hi,

I bought a Toshiba Netbook in 2010. It has some version of Windows on it. It started to run slowly. I installed Linux on it. Over time, same thing. Any thoughts as to what is making it slow down and what I could potentially run on it to even use it as a word processor? Also, any ideas as to what Windows version would have originally been installed on that netbook?

Thanks, Scott

Thanks for your quick response Win 7 sounds quite possible. My only other question is that I don't store any data on that netbook and keep programs to a minimum.

Do you think if I reinstall the original Win7 media, it would come back to life? I don't care whether the machine receives updates for Win 7. I'd be happy enough just to use it as a glorified word processor. Do you know if Kali Linux is a large image bc of all the cyber tools it has? I am wondering if I installed something like Linux MINT, whether that would demand fewer resources and would make the machine run better?

Thanks, Scott
