Optical cable hooked up the soundbar I have the cable hooked up to a soundbar on a LG 32-inch TV it works fine on HDMI 1 HDMI

Can't get sound from optical cable come out of the television is coming onto television speakers but not on the soundbar it will on H HDMI 1 HDMI 2 AV but not on TV settings

Which 32" model LG TV?

Are you sure that both the TV and sound bar have "live" (functional) optical ports?
