Does laptops auto overclock when playing games?
Dell i7 2.00 ghz 4510u 8gb ram 840m 2gb nvidia windows 8.1

If you mean turbo, then yes, depending on temp, power and needs.

You can't control the cpu but you could oc the gpu. I won't recommend it though, you're probably already getting pretty hot. No turbo does not damage it. It will go off turbo if it gets too hot. This is not auto ocing. Think of it more as a dynamic max speed.
