Hello everyone. I have an Asus R501VB-S3171D, intel i7 - 3630QM, Nvidia GT 740M , stock rams 4GB. I want to know if it is a normal thing at this kind of laptop to reach 90 degrees in games? (while having mozilla , skype , steam on) . The games I've tried recently are League of legends, Heroes of the Storm , C9 , and while playing them my i7 reached 90-92 degrees, while my Nvidia remained at 70-80 degres max.

When was the last time you took it apart and cleaned all the dust out of the heatsink fins? Might need a repasting of both the CPU and GPU as well. The 70-80 degrees on the GPU is probably tolerable under heavy load, but the CPU temps are getting way up there.

It's true I didn't try to clean the dust ever since i got it (1,5years), I'm slightly worried about the assurance... However I read on some forums that for certain Asus models, including this one, being "hot" is a normal thing, like it or not.
Anyway, say we were to leave out this option (referring to the dust part), would there be any other issues I should take into consideration? .-.
