Overwhelming static in microphone recording

I have tried a cheap microphone, and the static is approximately the same volume as the voice. Using a good quality microphone, I still get the same thing even though it works perfect in my moms camcorder. However, I can't purchase anything due to the fact that I am 13 years old and my parents wouldn't let me. They don't even know that I record Minecraft videos in the middle of the night. But the static cannot be removed using Audacity, and it is greater than any static that I've ever heard in my life. I am on Ubuntu Studio 16.04, Motherboard is ASUSTek Computer Inc. Z170-P Rev. X.0x

I pushed the jack harder in, and it got a whole lot better. Now I can remove the noise using Audacity, so I am sort of fine. But if there is something else that would make it easier then please tell me!
