Several things. First, can you post a picture of the screen so we can see what it's trying to set up? Or at least a better description, with all of the text?
Second, can you boot the machine to BIOS or does this come before that point?
Third, how long has your mother had it, how long did it work, and did any significant change happen, like putting it through the washing machine?
Fourth, I have to ask. Your mother does know that you're doing this, right? I'm not trying to be rude; every so often we get someone who is trying to hack into someone else's machine and we have to handle those threads differently. Thank you.
