Panasonic Blu-ray disc player only plays the audio no picture

What would make the Blu-ray Panasonic disc player only have the audio and no picture on the television

Is the TV you are using older? I had the same issue with an old Sony HD Tube TV, HDMI did not work with picture only sound, but the composite and component outputs were fine.
