Paranoic question in regards of USB microphone

I bought my very first USB microphone, Samson - Meteor Mic and it's freaking perfect in terms of quality and design. What I wanted to know is, is it safe to leave mic always plugged in and let him pick any voice/noise from room during day ? I would cover him anyways with small nice bag which I got along with mic to prevent dust, but wondering about being turned on 100% of the time. Or disabling in recording devices would be enough ?

I had a lot of failures in terms of plug in / plug off usb cables on consoles/PC and other hardwares.

I honestly can't imagine that it would be damaged either way. If you aren't going to move it just leave it there and hit the mute button.

I thought that mute button would do a trick. Ok will do that. When you have something which is that great for that budget, I'm scared that I can damage it somehow, and for last 4 years while I was using headphone mic which is lower quality for youtube I didnt care about anything but there..
