Hi,

I know that IE stores its password list in the registry under
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Passwords,
but what about passwords for network connections? Are they stored in the
same place or somewhere else?

The reason I'm asking is that I recently connected to a share on my
corporate network and, while entering username and password, foolishly
checked the "remember password" box, and now I can't connect using different
credentials. Before installing a registry editor on my PDA, I would like to
know where to look for the password.

Thanks in advance.

The user credentials are encrypted using DPAPI, so you won't be able to
recover them using a registry editor.

Thanks, Alex.

You're right, I want to completely remove the information about
what credentials were used to connect to a specific share.

My only option so far is to change the password on my domain
account.

Any thoughts?
