PC Engine, TurboGrafx-16 and Jap HuCards...

Hi Folks,

I have been seriously getting into retro-gaming recently, and decided
to pick up a PC Engine - these were around when I was a kid, but as
they were all imports, and I didn't know the rest of the world existed
I didn't really give them more than a few glances at the time.

I picked up a new TurboGrafx-16 from eBay, the auction title was listed
as " BRAND NEW OLD STOCK TURBO GRAFX 16 COLLECTORS JAP IMP", which led
me to believe that it was an imported Japanese console. I also purched
some Japanese HuCards (R-Type I and R-Type II) to play on it when I get
it.

After doing a little more research, it looks like the TurboGrafx-16 was
the American version of the PC Engine, so there wouldn't be such a
thing as a Japanese TurboGrafx-16, and now I am worried that the games
I bought are not going to work on the console!

Is this console american or Japanese? Is it going to be able to play
the Japanese HuCards I bought? If I need some sort of adaptor, where
can I get one from? I have been looking on eBay, but can't find one
anywhere!

if so, under system specifications the fourth bullet states:
Plays Japanese PC Engine HuCards w/ Adapter

so it looks as though you will need to find an adapter.

Yes, thats the auction

The title and the auction title and the auction description are a bit
missleading. I think he has probably put JAP and IMP so that searches
for Japanese and import games bring the auction up.

Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining about the seller, although he
hasn't contacted me I have no reason to beleive he is anythig but a
first class eBay user. Actually, I have a reason to believe he is an
excellent seller as I have been told he ran a very professional site
dedicated to PC Engines!.

I will have to wait for a reply, probably after easter when most
businesses go back to work. Hopefully he will be able to help me out.
