PC to Projector setup

I am not an expert at video installation so I am hoping someone can suggest anything.

Overview:

1) I have a a projector with a single VGA connection.

2) I have two PCs that need to connect to this.

3) A switching device needs to be easily accessible to switch between the two PCs.


I would like to have the PCs be able to connect via DVI or HDMI as these are just getting popular but VGA can work with converters if needed.


I am happy to fill in any detail or charts possible. I tried to keep it simple.

Since your projector only has a single VGA connector, it would be easiest to just use VGA outputs from your PCs. If your PCs only have DVI outputs, then use a DVI to VGA adapter. Just about every graphics card on the market today comes with one. As for a switch, something like this 2X2 SVGA VGA MATRIX Switcher Splitter Amplifier Multiplier 250MHz should work for you.
